Enjoy the Texas summer with holiday rodeos! Come out and enjoy all that the local Wimberley Texas rodeo has to offer which will be celebrating its 66th season..
Professional rodeos generally comprise the following events: tie-down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, bull riding and barrel racing. In North America, professional rodeos are governed and sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
The upcoming events are as follows:
Memorial Day Rodeo
May 26-27
Wimberley Open Pro Rodeo
8pm. VFW Arena, RR12 & Jacobs Well Rd. Hosted by Wimberley 4H. Rodeo events include: Bareback Bronc Riding, Tie Down Calf Roping, Girl’s Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Ladies Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Calf Scramble, and a Specialty Act. This is great family entertainment! Proceeds benefit the Wimberley 4H.

4th of July Rodeo
Thursday, July 5th; Friday, July 6th and Saturday July 7th
Cowboys Professional Rodeo Assn. (CPRA) sanctioned pro/open event (Ranked “Best CPRA Rodeo of the Year” in 2006 CPRA Hall of Fame)
Gates open at5:30. 1st Mutton Bustin’ at7:00; Rodeo begins at8 p.m.
Events include: bull riding, tie down calf roping, bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, women’s breakaway roping, and women’s barrel racing.
Special new event will be mini bull riding, 2nd Mutton Bustin’ midway in Rodeo
Tickets: Adults – $15, Children $10 ($12/$7 if purchased in advance)
Every night…
2 calf scrambles nightly: one for ages 5-8 and another for ages 9-12
Mutton Bustin’ register inside the VFW at 6:00p.m The cost will be $20 per ride, 60 lb. maximum rider weight
Fireworks following the rodeo (weather permitting)
